I've done most of my Java development in Java 8 version. Between 2017 and 2020 Oracle released versions 9 though 13. While it's nice to discover the new features of the language, there is an overwhelming number of them. Should I be keeping up with the latest versions or is it okay to stop on one of them (there's a lot of catching up I would have to do)? Is there any place for Java 8 in the future, or is it time to let go of Java 8?
